New Sod for 2024 at Parkview Field

After six weeks of extensive field renovation work, Parkview Field is ready for new sod installation. Roughly 18 truckloads of four-foot wide “maxi rolls” will be rolled in over the course of three days from Coloma, Wisconsin, where the new Mountain View 365ss Bluegrass has been grown by Central Wisconsin Sod, a subsidiary of Heath Farms. Central Wisconsin Sod has also produced the grass for Wrigley Field in Chicago.

Parkview Field installs new grass for player safety and field maintenance

Parkview Field will undergo renovations as new requirements from Major League Baseball after concerns of safety. Parkview Field will undergo the process of flattening the field and replacing the sod as a part of the Minor League Professional Development League.

Parkview Field ranks #1 again in ballpark experience in the MiLB

Parkview Field has been named the #1 for the top game-day experience in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) for the second year in a row. According to Stadium Journey the stadium where the Tincaps play offers the best when it comes to the patented FANFARE scoring metric. The metric considers the ballpark’s food and beverage options, gameday atmosphere, surrounding neighborhood, access to the park, return on investment, and more.

15 Years of Parkview Field

September 11, 2008. The new ballpark in downtown Fort Wayne was still concrete and gravel. Construction well underway, but far from over. On the future field, where the pitcher’s mound will eventually be, a press conference announced the naming rights for the new ballpark. Parkview Health, the area’s largest employer, would put their name on one of the city’s biggest development projects.

Annual Fort 4 Fitness Fall Festival at Parkview Field

The event is the largest gathering of the community in the celebration of fitness and anyone is welcome, whether participating in the Triple Crown or even cheering from the sidelines. Vendors will also line up within Parkview Field for the expo which is free for anyone to participate. The festival will kick off on September 29 with the 1.2-mile lap around the Parkview Field to wrap up the summer-long Kids and Seniors Marathon programs. September 30 will be the big race day, where the 4 mile, 10K, Half Marathon, and Triple Crown will take place, ending at Parkview Field.

Funds approved for improvements at Parkview Field

The Fort Wayne Development Commission met today to approve funds for new improvements at Parkview Field. The new improvements include laying down new turf before the 2024 season and replacing the flooring at the Treetop seating area. The new turf is a Major League Baseball requirement.

Meet the TinCaps Youngest Superfan

Baseball brought this family together. Brent and Melissa Harring met because of their jobs working for the TinCaps. The two got married in 2017, and welcomed their baby boy Bennett in June of 2022. Not long after that, they introduced their son to the sport that had already shaped their lives in such a big way.
